No, there is not a minimum time commitment for volunteers. We understand that volunteering relies on free time, which frequently varies! This is why we don't require volunteers to complete a minimum amount of volunteer hours.

It depends on the volunteer opportunity. Some opportunities are just walk-in while others may require scheduling a few days prior. Contact us for more details regarding inquiries on a specific opportunity.

Whenever a volunteer needs their volunteer hours, they can email or message us(hhnporg@gmail.com or 510-992-0406). Please message us 3-5 business days prior to when the hours are needed!

Volunteers apply for a PVSA by sending an email to hhnporg@gmail.com. There are 3 tiers to the award: Bronze(25 hours), Silver(50 hours), and Gold(100 hours) if they are below the age of 16. All hours must be completed within a span of 12 months. There are also lifetime awards if the volunteer reaches 4000+ hours within their lifetime. Volunteers must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. We will ensure all volunteers have the eligible requirements and if so, we will order an award for them!
